One of my friends sent me a text last week asking me if I knew what a 30-30 was worth.
He told me it's a Winchester model 34. I've never heard of the 34 before and am curious as to what it's worth.
From pictures he showed me it looks like a model 94. But he swears it's a model 34.
I'm wondering if anyone has experience with them and what it might be worth.
Cheers,

I took a quick check through my Winchester books and find no mention of a model 34 of any description. If you could post pictures it would help? I suspect that it is a model 94.

Never heard of the model 34 and Google fu is failing to produce anything.....
Maybe the number is obscured slightly? Maybe he's wrong? Or maybe it's a rifle chambered in 348 Winchester? I've met people that refer to EVERY lever action rifle as the thutty-thutty....
Best bet is to have him snap a picture of the stamping on the barrel, it'll help get this figured.

My wife's uncle told me he had an old Winchester 30-30 that had belonged to his grandfather. I asked him to have a look at it. It was a Winchester 1886 Takedown in. 33 WCF. I just about fell over with excitement...and then he gave it to me.

Hope you remembered to say thanks! That's quite an heirloom

No such thing as a Win 34 levergun, if it is clearly marked 30-30 it's a 94 or variant there of (64, 55) as Win never chambered the 30-30 in any other lever gun in their line up.
Value is anything from $100 - several thousand, depending on what it is, when it was made and condition...............
