Title says it all lads, I would love to have a spare sks stock to refinish. My Para has a reasonable condition stock, but I would like a spare in case I break this one. Plus I want to take all the laquer off and have a nice oiled version, you know, for those special occasions. I would really love a laminate stock, surely someone wants to ship one over to New Zealand? :)

call CGN sponsor "Fishing World". They often have extra wood stocks kicking around as they tend to sell their SKS's in plastic stocks, and most of the buyers don't want the wood stocks, or the bayonets.

I will try the lads at Fishing World, HiCal does not ship to New Zealand- they have no export license...I tried to get a UTG buttpad but they declined my cash offering. Thanks for the help!

hey just as a side note.

Watch out for shipping wood products Down under. They are very strict on the importation of wood products. You will run into issues with solid wood, but laminate ( since its engineered ) may be ok.

I ship boat motor mounts made from steel and wood. As soon as they see wood. 30 day quaranteen. Im looking at replacing the wood with plastic just to get away from the hassel.

All the vendors they listed are excellent to deal with.

No reason why the action won't. The most obvious differences between the two are the spike (Chinese) and blade bayonet (Russia).

The Chinese made some changes over the years of production. Notable are the barrel lugs. They started with the long, then short then pinned barrel. The early Chinese stocks don't fit the late ones so if a Russian stock would fit would depend on the Chinese one you have and what configuration it is. It might be made to fit but could be a lot of work... Plus the blade/spike bayo issue already mentioned.

Lever Arms, based out of Vancouver (should be cheapest shipping to NZ).

Chinese SKS stock with spike cutout. They have a lot of Chinese SKS parts, I purchased a gas tube/hand guard from them.

I don't know if they will ship to NZ.

Cheers,

Fishing World wanted to charge me.....$353. $100 for the stock and the rest is "shipping". I think I will get my gunsmith to make me a custom, NZ hardwood SKS stock for $300 instead!

What is the problem with sending these to NZ? If there is no export problems sending a wooden stock I would be more than happy to help you out by sending it for you, If you have a line on where to buy one.

HICAL OVERCharge for 90% of everything they sell, so you did yourself a favor! :p I have an extra one, if it can be done,(no regulation on it) let me know.

Guys firearms business has to fill out a export permit for every exportation. As an individual you do not need to do this. I hope this explains why business would not ship to NZ

Milarms here in Edmonton had a barrel of them in the surplus room last time I was in there. Can't remember exactly, but I think he was charging like $20.00 for them. I can't remember if he had hanguards or not. Would you need one? I would not mind slipping over there and seeing if there was a decent one. It is not too far from my work. Let me know.

Absolutely- don't need a handguard, just need a good condition spare stock to re-finish. Let me know if you can send it over and how much it would cost. Cheers!
