I'm currently looking for a hunting trip to go on either this summer or even plan for next winter/summer. I have no objections to traveling to other countries. Does anyone have any medium game recommendations? My only thought is that I do not want to be sitting in a stand all day and I want to use my m14 to take the game.
What are your thoughts?

Most people that are planning a trip have some sort of an idea what type of animal they'd like to hunt and a price range they're looking at. "Medium game in some international country" is a pretty vague question. There's everything from pronghorn in Wyoming to Bongo in the Congo. Big difference in all aspects.

I do want to rule out 3rd world countries. What would be your go to hunt?

the helicopter stuff looks like fun. Definitely not a traditional hunting experience. Alligator hunting would be fun. Bring home a big gator hide. Likely sitting in a boat, instead of a stand.

I'd like to pay sub 6K

With $6000 all in you're pretty much stuck to North America. There are some African plains game hunts for $4000 or so, but after airfare, hotels, trophy shipping, etc. you'll be well over $6000. There are probably some Roe deer hunts in England that'll run that all in,or moose in Sweden or one of the Baltic countries, but those are mostly for people that have run out of other things to shoot.

So that leaves Mule deer, whitetail, black bear, cougar, pronghorn, some caribou, Newfoundland moose maybe, elk in select US states, etc.

If it were me, I would choose caribou hands down for a first time "away from home" hunt, with Northern Quebec probably being the best deal still. Your M14 should be good to go for that.

Do your homework on outfitters and you'll have a great time, providing you're not a 600 lb. chain smoker.

Look into a Hawaii hog hunt, you can hunt in literal jungle (Jurassic Park was filmed largely on Kauai) and have a serious adventure on budget. You'll also love the rest of the trip, including the non-hunting. As a bonus you can also self guide in Hawaii, not an option much elsewhere. I'm going back this winter for boar and sheep on Mauna Kea.

Here's a write up on the Big Island I did that may prove useful in your planning, my inadvertent scouting trip,

Can you even take a Norc M14 to the States? The $6000 price tag rules out entire continents, but so does the semi-auto rifle. Summer rules most of Canada, though summer is a relative term and what is summer in Ontario could be fine up North. You can just about forget any province that requires a guide if you're going to try to stay under six grand all-in.

Why don't you go deer hunting at home?

SW ontario = shotgun hunting and I'd prefer to go out with my rifle. I'm a city dweller who has almost no connections to private land owners who would allow me to hunt on their land let alone land up north. I'm SOL in that sense... I'd buy a new m1a to bring down south if need be.

Experience level is next to NIL.. I have shot yotes, foxes and gophers. I'm more of a hunt and hike kind of guy and If I don't get game due to my inexperience I think I would just be happy to even have had a trip/

Good on you, frank assessment and everyone in this forum has been new at some point. Pigs somewhere that's nice to be would be right up your alley I'd bet. Most of our alleys really. Hawaii, Florida hog hunts is what I'd shop, dirt cheap too you'll have no problem coming in under budget.

And an M1A is good to go for the US, Norincos no go, but the Springfield is a nice upgrade anyhow just a good excuse to do it.
