Title says it all anyone know where a guy can get a block of ebony to make a forend tip with. Brownells doesn't sell them anymore and that's the only place I know where to get them.

There are some violin makers and luthiers in Toronto that would have ebony.
Heinls comes to mind:

I'm in Winnipeg so I think that will be hard for me.

Not really, just call and ask if they have a piece of wood, or know where you can get one in the size you need.
I had them install a fretless ebony fingerboard installed on a bass guitar neck.
Worth a call if you can't find something here in town. There are a couple of guys who work on stringed instruments here as well.

I bought some for a fore end tip the winter of 2012-13 from the following place. Good folks to deal with. The piece of wood you will see on there web site is numbered and that is the exact piece you will get. I phoned them and placed my order that way. No issues and the project turned out great.

I just checked there web site and they have a 2" thick piece which is what you want. It is not pictured. Dealing with these guys is a no BS experience. No ebay, no customs.
