Issue with PMAG and Norinco AR...PLS HELP

I am having faluires to feed with the first Pmag I bought.

However if push up on the bottom of the mag while i shoot it functions flawlessly.


Any Thoughts??

Any trouble with other mags ?
Sounds like the mag release might not engaging .
Are you loading the mag with the bolt open or closed ?
Some times my pmags don't seat properly with the bolt closed.

I believe the isssue may go away if you load the mag with the bolt to the rear . To get my mags to work corectly I had to drill out the rivets and remove a small amount of material from under the follower and then replace the rivets .
This made the mags fit 5.5 rounds . When they made the mags they would take 5 rounds but it wouldnt allow me to change mags with the bolt forward . It wouldnt pick up the first round and some of the mags wouldnt lock into place .

I'm thinking your mag doesn’t fit... just this one mag? All Pmags? How about the mags that came with the gun? Other metal mags?

Other mags work. I have never tried a PMag before but the follower seems very weak. I think thats the issue.

If the follower seems weak, I'd check to see if the rivet is catching the spring.

tap the bottom of the pmag hard, problem solved, at least for me.

x2. The rivet they used is probably too long.
