What's lead shot going for these days?

Its been a while since I've had to buy shot, but I picked up some #8's for $30/bag (private sale). Good price?

Locally for me it's going for $50/25lbs + tax.
Straight from Hummason if you live near enough to drive is $40/25lbs + tax

If I could get it for $30/25lbs I would buy as much as I could.

My friend was in Calgary a few weeks ago and they $69.95 for a bag of lead #4's.

makes me glad when I found 50lbs on #7 1/2 shot last week in one of my boxes of stuff. just loading .410 that's a lot of reloads

Wow!!! I think I just threw up in my mouth a little bit!!! Glad I am using homemade shot for target loads I get it for 25.00 a bag from a guy I know...

That is probally going to dry up unfortunately in the next couple of years since they have eliminated the lead weights and real hard to find any scrap flashing or pipe down this way.
I would stock up

Agreed. I guess its time to load steel target loads at those prices. I have not done the math on that yet though.

Paid $55 flat for 25lb of 7.5 last summer, not so bad I guess. Only loading for 410 and not a whole lot so should last me years.

Not for me with the 28ga and 410 target loads. Steel reloading is really in the baby stages there and I don't think the old guns can handle the pressures
Steel is running 35 a bag for 10 pounds plus tax and then you have to ship it normally from the other end of canada more expensive than lead for sure. Can almost get 1000 CB wads for the price of 100 steel
They go steel at the clubs and it will end all forms of clay target shooting for most guys

Oh for sure! I only use steel for waterfowl in and I don't reload steel just lead. I'm sitting on a huge stack of lead #8's that my dad bought back in the 1990's for about $16/bag?

No worries. I'm trying to decide to either reload on Sunday or go shooting. Going shooting is winning so far. Going to Marlborough forest if your interested.
