Ithica 37 deer slayer

I want to put a sling on my 1974 Ithica 12 ga. Do I need to have a barrel band installed? There is no way of attaching a stud to the mag cap.

Looks like Uncle Mike used to sell a kit for the ithacha 37 that mounts to the lug on the barrel, otherwise a barrel ring as you suggest or just a sling that ties around the barrel would work....

This stud is on Ithaca's site, Part # 370074-IC

IIRC only actual Deer Slayer barrels and Police barrels were d and t for that stud.

That's interesting Darryl, I just assumed they all needed to be drilled and tapped.

That is not 100% true friend. I have an early King's Ferry M87 12 gauge bird barrel that is D&T'd for this stud that Can-down thoughtfully displays.

I was not speaking of the 87 series. I only refer to actual model 37's. But thanks for the further info.
