Was thinking about this from another post, what materials and plans are available for a powder storage box.

Does everyone use one, and have they ever been purchased or made from another container.

Do you use a similar container for primers?

I've seen many posts here where the powders were just placed on shelves near benches or cabinets..

I have wooden cupboard with brass hardware on the wall in my reloading shop.
it has 2 shelves for powder and a separate primer storage area.
I even went legal and bought a $.25 explosives sticker for it :p

I use particle board pre-fab cupboards for powder, primer and ammo storage. All have had a hasp and lock added to meet the requirements of the gestapo regulations, which are ridiculous in the extreme.

My rifle powder goes in a drawer in my wood reloading desk and my pistol powder goes in a drawer in a metal filing cabinet in my gun room and what doesn't fit in those goes in a metal filing cabinet in my garage.
Most of my primers are in a humidity controlled gun safe and the rest are in a drawer in my reloading desk.
Bullets get a different drawer in the desk and what don't fit go in a different gun safe.
Loaded rounds get the plastic MTM cases and are on shelves in the closet in the gun room.

I'm moving across the hall to a bigger room this summer when I have time to move it all. Things are getting crowded in the little room :D

Well i have built plywood boxes to store my Mec shotgun reloaders and supplies to the gauge. Back of the box is peg board so any explosion is vented, that direction.

Never did anything similar for my powder or centerfire supplies. All my powder and primers are simply in trunks. Keeping my powder dry.

Storage is going to depend on who is present or has access. If i had a 13 year old son present i would store more securely.
