I store my powder in my bedroom closet on a wood shelf behind glass sliding doors. Wife's side of the bed of course. 
yes, the regulations changed and the wooden box is no longer a requirement.
I store both powder and primers in a wooden box, as per the regulations.
Yup my house is built of wood
304. (1) When propellant powder, percussion caps or black power cartouches are stored in a dwelling, they must be stored away from flammable substances and sources of ignition. People not authorized by the user must not be given unlimited access to the propellant powder, percussion caps or black powder cartouches.
That is all anything else refers to seperate storage unit not attached to your dwelling.

I suggest the nfa should update there website to keep up with 2014 changes


date doesn't matter I just gave that to check the sections applicable
since it hasn't changed that I have seen if it has please share
it cannot just be placed on a shelf in a home must be under 10kg and in a suitable spark proof what ever bin, container which is a wooden something
