I Took this rifle that had been chopped ( wood and barrel) and After I had seen some " Tanker" carbine on the web I have decided to make this one look as much original as possible by putting back full wood on it. I had my friend #### ( Tiriaq) here on CGN redo the muzzle and reposition the front sight. He did a beautiful job ! I did the wood job myself ! I luv the results and i want to share some pics with you guys ( and gals)

Very unique & cool!

How do you figure the accuracy will be?

Cheers
Jay

Very cool, that looks great. What is the final barrel length? That thing looks like it was made for big game hunting in the bush. Better have a milsurp day and take it out for a carry!

That looks really good!
This project did not involve altering an intact rifle. The barrelled action came from a rifle that had been altered, its barrel and stock having been cut. Bore is perfect. In other words, an ideal candidate for a custom build. The forend wood was all used, salvaged, grungy, as were the bands. Pre-1898 did a great job of redoing these.
Here is how the barrel was done - after being trimmed to the desired length, the muzzle section was turned to the same diameter as a standard rifle, no lugs of course. Like a No. 7. A front sight base was bored out, so that the lugways were gone. A piece of 4130 Cr-Mo tube was turned to a nice fit in the front sight base, and soldered in place. Both sides were faced off, and the sight base was bored for a drive fit on the barrel. A hole was drilled and tapped down through the sight base for a locking setscrew. The hole for the front sight protector screw was opened out.

Actually #### the wood And bands I used are not the same. Those I bought from you went to one of my friend to refurbish an other rifle. The wood and bands on this one is new old stock from Great Britain. I really have no credit for refinishing. all I did was shortening the forearm and the front handguard and reshaping the tips to fit the metal nose caps on both.
This carbine is immaculate ! I have a micrometer rear sight coming in the mail for it. I wish it was one from a jungle carbine but it is a regular no4 one. !
