perhaps they do, but I highly doubt that you will ever see one. Unless you are in a tree stand on a full moon lite night and they happen to be in the area at the time. Please keep us posted on how your hunt goes. Good Luck and happy shoot'en. Richer area?

I know of at least two feral pigs that are not only eating what they see, but eating a lot of tax payers money. No one knows where they live, either PEI, Saskatchewan or Ontario. However, the only clue I can give you is that they are pink and not black or coloured phased. They go by the name of Duffy and Wallin.
Guys!! Go back a year! There were PAGES of posts regarding the problem of WILD BOARS aka feral pigs in Western Manitoba and Saskatchewan. I recall a poster from NE Sask describing the problem they are to farmers and he had pics of a winter boar hunt! The beasts are nocturnal - bed down in a PILE ALL TOGETHER FOR WARMTH - when "flushed out" they run single file. The guy had pics of a snow covered field showing about 5 shot boars spread out over about 400 yds . The trick was picking them off from the last in line and working forward so they didn't spook and scatter. They are NASTY beasts when cornered and hell on dogs! AND if you REALLY ENJOY eating a rank old BEAR ... yes you will appreciate eating these beasts!!! Take it from this old farmer: these beasts are rank! Not like the "pork" you buy over the counter! Only good for coyote bait!
The farm down river from us used to run a heard of over 500 wild boar cross...Had breakouts on a regular basis, those critters can really dig and when need be, can jump pretty good too...I sure miss them, the hunt and great meat they provided...In the end when the price got real low he more or less just let them go...They gave us a good time at first but never lasted long as the snow and cold took them out...Unless they find a hay yard they can't make it through the winter in our neck of the north woods.
Still got the head of the biggest boar I shot on the mantle...One night the wife woke me, telling of strange noise outside...Ran out naked as a jay bird to find the beast under the crab apple tree feasting...If your going to get a crack at one of those buggers you gotta move...Stretched out on the loader he went over 8 feet long, his tusks up on the mantle are just under 4 inches long.
Tell you what, when I looked down the barrel at that beast in my nakedness that night, I suddenly realized that all I had for backup was a short stack of buttons!!
