Vz58 pistol mags??

Some needs to determine if...

A) Pistols are elligable for import

B) They aren't already in Canada as short barrelled rifles (ie 7.5 and 11.75 carbines)

Here is the back end of a pistol, and the only feature that is different than a rifle. Maybe some people can step up, modify their existing SBR and get them re-verified as pistols.

Yup, someone needs to start this process and bring some into canada!

Yah dammit, these will go like hotcakes! I'd get a dozen.
Hell if the bring in a vz58 pistol I'd buy it too. Chuck Norris that sheet!

They would be legal here as they are designed for a pistol originally (same as the LMR pistol mags in Ar's), but it looks like it wont fit my CZ vs58 Sporter anyhow? is this correct

You are wrong cut all the mags for vz rifles are interchangeable. We have to wait and see as there is a pistol version in the hands of the RCMP as we speak. For how long they have it for is the real question.

I was asking because they put on the site that it doesn't fit sporter's and California rifles, I just couldn't understand why they wouldn't.

The cali ones are a single stack rifle and these are staggered stack so they won't work with them but will with any of the ones in Canada

Yea I was confused cause my sporter is a Dbl stack I was wondering why it said that? So they should indeed work in a CZ vs58 sporter then provided they get a FRT # on that pistol?

is that the Jist of it? Cause Id love to get a few

The pistol also has to be "commonly available" for the 10 round mags to be kosher. One VZ pistol in country doesn't cut it.

Wait there's a legal 10 shot vs58 mag? which brand? I had no Idea so I just have a ton of Banana 30 Rounders pinned at 5 with a rivet and feel kinda lame but am left with no choice

At Least I am Tacti-cool ;P

Or no even one may not be enough?

I am confused again.

Yes. One pistol would cut it. The mounties have gone on record as saying one makes a gun "commonly available".

There is one in country. It is currently registered as a rifle. The owner has sumbitted the firearm to the lab arguing that it is incorrectly classified, and should be registered as a pistol.

Once the FRT is posted, zahal will be able to sell the pistol mags to canadians.

Actually, if we're all going to get excited about this again:

The RCMP Senior Firearms Technologist has made it clear that common availability “includes the use of the internet, a credit card, and Fed-Ex.” With many companies now exclusively focusing on cross border firearms shopping, what is commonly available in the US is commonly available here. - http://www.vz58pistol.ca/

The real puzzle is: how long can the RCMP sit on the gun before they decide to issue it an FRT?

Fenceline's post hit the nail on the head, and you're looking at the rightful owner here.

Would you happen to have a copy of that available?

Given the wording of the Firearms Act and their propensity to screw us at every turn, that's certainly surprising.

Who's excited? It's great news if they intend to make that judgement. If that's truly the case, why aren't mags being imported as we speak?

i am most definitely not a fan of the RCMP,,BUT,,,classifying this thing as a pistol would be pretty stupid,,,does this thing look anything like a pistol to you..LOL...as much as we would like to have 10 rounders for our riffles,,,if the RCMP DOES classify this as a pistol...it will show their complete lack of firearms knowledge,,,then again,,,LOL...they havent been very bright in their rullings in the past,,LOL...
