Marstarsl Norenco new M14 purchase

That is outstanding shooting, hope you get more like that.

I'm at the load bench tonight, plotting out how to find another node.

Bored - Here is something that I've been doing to scare myself lately - I've been trying to compensate for the roomy headspace on the Norc by performing a minimal shoulder bump on my sizing die. The sized case is clearly longer than 308 SAAMI spec but still chambers cleanly. It seems to have reduced the flyers and also its been ages since I've had to trim my brass.

Am I nuts to keep using 7x fired brass in my M305? So far there are no stretch marks or cracks, even inside when I use a feeler.

I don't like to use brass in a M14-type rifle after 4 or 5 x. Honestly, brass isn't that pricey when you consider the potential for catastrophe. So, politely and with respect, yes you be nutz :)

Thanks for the confirmation. I was feeling a little uneasy but hate throwing away brass that looks perfect...besides a bad Tomochan beat me by seconds to some nice LC brass that a certain CGNutter was offering up.

Why do people cover their targets with things? We all know the squares are 1". It's like the guns and ammo mags where there is a tight group and a set of ear muffs on the target a few inches away from the grouping.

Thanks eaglesnester, I hope you do as well. Watch out for a Hungry Clinic. You'll take your rifle down and rebuild it up nice and tight as ever. I've taken mine to one, it was a 2.5" rifle at best before then.

Guess which shot was number 5. :( I will always wonder if that was nerves or what. I couldn't believe watching those rounds stack up.

I've don't lots of work with the 223 and I think this spring or summer, I'll answer the question, was it the rifle or me?

I know the feeling .....Especially after the fourth lands right on the money, its then that the hesitation kicks in and you just cant seem to get your breathing right LOL.
Wouldn't have it any other way. A buddy was shooting a Hi end 6mm bench gun and put twenty rounds in a hole the size of a pea and he was bored ! It was too easy.

That must be where that pesky sixth shot flyer is hiding...

What potential for catastrophe? What do you think is going to happen?

Personally, I think the nuts are people who throw away perfectly good brass because it hit some arbitrary number of firings. Shoot it until it doesn't do the job anymore. A split neck never hurt anyone.

bed the m14. glockster on youtube has a video. brought mine from 3" to just over an inch @100y. with factory 150gr ammo (S&B fmj)

You a 100% correct......In a bolt gun.

Do a bit of research and then we can continue the dialogue.

Edit- here would be a good place to start: http://www.zediker.com/downloads/m14.html
