Caught a Tavor Fever... "Official Tavor Picture Thread"

This is my new-to-me Tavor Gen2. I just came back from the range and must admit that my DDM4V5 is a little more accurate but I experience much less fatigue shooting my Tavor off-hand. I haven't decided to what go with for a future optic ... Vortex PST 1-4, Trijicon ACOG, not sure. I also need to find a pressure switch for my Streamlight.

I'm not sure why everyone is switching out the IWI slings, I think they are awesome quality. The cloth pockets that cover the sling clips are an especially nice touch.

What do y'all recommend for a new flash hider? The PWS on here I find much too loud. My ears rang a bit and I had the foam earbugs for ear protection. They have always been enough. I might just go with something similar like a DD A2 style flash hider. What do you think?

If you're gonna splurge on an acog, best to get an Elcan Specter DR.

Splurge eh? You can buy 4 PSTs for the price of one Elcan.

Not really the same thing. Have you ever tried an elcan specter? It's well worth the money. The quality of the glass is exceptional, I've only seen swaroski being better.
An acog is about 1400$, elcan is 1900. You get 1x and 4x
If you had a 45degree RMR to your acog you're at 1900,might as well get a specter dr.

I've never had the chance to handle or look through one. If I do, maybe I will be converted.

I had both a Tavor and an RFB. The Tavor went because of a bad case of Tavor eye, and the RFB couldn't shoot 3 inch groups. I figured what was the use of a rifle chambered in .308 that couldn't shoot? For both rifles, I was disappointed. Though I do wish I could try a non-tavoreye model.... I've since went to an XCR in 6.8 and am extremely happy.... And I've just about enough for a T-97 as I love the Bullpup configs. Wish my experience turned out better as those rifles are friggin ###y. I'd kill for a non restricted F2000...

Sometimes gasses leak around the ejection port cover and come up under your shooting glasses. If this happens and bothers you, just pick up a Tavor FLEx Swivel made by Gear Head Works. Zahal is bringing in all the gear head works goodies.

The swivel properly seals off the port and adds further ahead qd sling socket. Well worth the $50 in my opinion.

As for the elcan specter dr, it is well worth the money even at new prices, but if you have patience and are a cheap ass you can find them for much less. Took me 6 months of daily hunting the ee to get mine, for $1566 shipped and insured, I could not be happier! The glass is phenomenal and the throw lever feature is awesome!

I don't own a Tavor.....yet shhhh don't tell my wife but am enjoying this thread, I have to say though I like the Tavor with the short mag better than say a 5/30 mag in there it just makes it look cleaner IMHO

Vortex Viper PST 1-4 in a Burris PEPR (different mount in pics... scrapped it, PEPR is way better)
Battlecomp 1.5
Streamlight TLR-1 with the pressure switch mounted under the pressure button on the left side of the hand guard

The Tavor doesnt need anything else IMO... its perfect just the way it is.

Shooting ALL norinco 55g surplus, no issues at all.

I notice you have a streamlight in your Tavor on the side rail. Try it out on the top rail in front of the optic, you'll probably find it is easier to activate.

I have the same optic on the same mount and I'm using the same light on my Tavor. Everything clears, it's comfy and it works brilliantly.

Picture related.

i think they look weird with short mags.

I don't think the short LAR mags look good in any rifle. But he AT-15 mags......

The tavor is a bit of a pain trying to find a good light set up that works well, and still looks decent. I even though about reversing the charging handle so I could mount the light on the left side. I ended up using a offset mount, and couldn't be happier. The button lines up perfectly with my index finger. It might not work for everybody though, I have pretty big hands.
