New sig mk 25 no anchor

Just finished unboxing it. Got it from a reputable dealer...everything looks correct coating on internals but no anchor weird. Just thought it might be harder to sell as a mk25 because I would have to convince them that it is. I did read the article on this at ar15.com. Just wondering if anyone else had one of these

 
Called sig and they told me it is legit only a handful made it out and apparently they are worth more. They wanted it back immediately until I told them I was in canada...lol

Lol! What makes it more valuable than with the anchor? The canada ones seem to have this issue becuase their was a thread a little while ago about this too. Weird eh?
 
Dunno I don't care bout worth more I was worried about slide being swapped. Sig rep called them the misprinted mk25's. But was assured it was legit. Anyway thought I'd post up the #### for all to see.

It's a factory flawed pistol. True that the no anchor issue is uncommon but it's not the only one, most of them were made in August of 2013. Looks like human error and quality control at the Sig plant was not at par during this particular period. This one along the others that don't have the anchor shoud'nt have made it out the shop! That's why the Sig rep offered to take it back, not because it worth more (my opinion).

All NSW's P226's have had the anchors for years.
 
Not trying to be a smart-ass but.... Aren't the three defining marks to a Mk25 the anchor, the sticker and the coated internals? If it doesn't have an anchor, and the sticker goes eventually falls off how will anyone know it is 'special'? Nobody will know if the internals are treated, or not. Does it say 'Mk25' on it anywhere? I can't see how it'd be collectible, really. Just wondering.

On another note... I also have a P226 (9mm, Siglites, E2 grips, short trigger and SRT also). I love it. Shoots nice, though I wish the sight dots were smaller, but I suppose they are great for combat. Accurate, but not nearly as accurate as my revolver.
I've got a .22 slide for mine, too. Very versatile gun. I thought about buying the Mk25 SEALS version, but I don't SCUBA dive in the ocean much with a pistol, so I needn't pay for the salt resistant parts.
 
Anchor all the way.

You won't have a hard time reselling as it has the serialized certificate of authenticity clearly in this pic. Sig collectors will know what it is with or without the anchor.

It's most definitely a MK25 and has all of the features that you pay for, phosphate coated internals, siglite sights, and a proper Picatinny rail. At the end of the day if you want one with the anchor then don't strip it down or fire it and send it back to the dealer and ask for a straight swap for one with an anchor.

Don't forget to put something on that rail (or on the replacements rail), like one of our Inforce APL ;).
 
Is the certificate shows the serial? Common issues was that some certificate were issued w/o any serial being printed on it from the factory. Another "flaw" from Sig's USA QC.
