What truly obsolete chambering would you like to see make a comeback?

One of the nicest...no, check that , absolutely the nicest gun I ever layed eyes on was a 4 bore double rifle completely home built by a man from the BC interior. He used to bring it to the Calgary gun show every year for us to drool over. He is a machinist and said it took him 10 yrs of on & off work to complete it. If I remember right the only part of the build he didn't do himself was the checkering.

He used to live in Whitehorse. He also built a 45-70 revolver while he lived here, and shot it quite a lot.

John is not only a very skilled machinist, he is an artisan, and a very nice guy.

257 roberts and more rifles in 7mm wsm

Both those are very, very much alive and well, and available off the shelf in both new rifles and ammunition fortunately. :) I'm a 'Bob fan myself.

9.3 x 64mm Brenneke. It'll do anything the .375 H&H will do with less powder and a smaller cartridge. Plus obscure metric calibres are ###y.

Fine call, not many all 'rounders that compare with the medium bore class.

300 H&H, not obsolete in my mind but most seem to think it is.

I like the idea of the the 8mm Remington Magnum as well (I have a major urge to get a fast 8mm, perhaps the 8mm Rem Mag, otherwise maybe an 8x68, although the .325 WSM seems to be the most readily available fast 8mm currently).

The 35 Whelen is not completely gone, but I would like to see a few more offerings from the big companies. Maybe a Sako 85 Bavarian or 85 Blackbear, or a Winchester 70 Extreme Conditions.

How about a 35STA or a resurgence of the 8mm RemMag?

Would also like to see a few more offerings in 260Rem.

I have a 358STA and love it, it will never be mainstream and I like that.

I'm kind of surprised at the number of guys saying 300 Savage and 250 Savage??

Up until about 2 or 3 years ago Savage Arms still chambered their 110's in 300 Savage and only discontinued the model 14 this year in the 250 Savage. Ammo is still all over the shelves (at least at my gun shop).

Not to mention they made a lot of barrels in 300 Savage for the Thompson Centers.
