M14 clinic in South-western British Columbia (Lower Mainland Region)

Confirmed.

You have to p.m. me to register ;)
Looks like we will be capping the list at 16 bodies so space is limited.
For those who have messaged me already, I'll get info to you at some point today.
Details are posted in events and gathering forum.
Cheers guys

UPDATE
I've added a second clinic to this trip at the request of a few guys who work the weekends.
So, clinic 2, same content, same location, will be Monday April 28

Clinic details are in events and gatherings forum
Cheers and thanx to the OP for lighting a fire under my butt :D

Had some conversations with a few guys that are signed up about before and after clinic results as far as down range goes.
So those of you who are able to hit the range at 100 yards/meters between now and clinic day (13 days !!) , try and shoot you rifles best groupings and mark the keeper targets pre clinic.
Personally I would shoot for 2 best groups of 5 shots and 2 best groups of 10 shots.
Irons or optics.
After the clinic , repeat and post your results.

Sound good? :D
Still room for sunday and monday's clinics, but at this point we are a firm GO.
I'm kinda excited to get on the road ;)

Will we be able to check headspace at the clinic? Mine has never to my knowledge been checked.

YES indeed we will be measuring headspace the most accurate way and that is with Clymer headspace gauges :D
My clinics are heavily geared to the "rifle smithing" side of things.
We'll be correcting barrel index
Anchoring oprod guides
Seating gas systems for port alignment and gas lock tension
Inspecting parts and identifying/correcting problems
A brief. Run down on trigger groups
Stock fit and corrections
And of course discussing upgrades and tweaks and explaining why they work and things that certainly do not work :D
And much more

Still room for both days. Lots of guys have posted and messaged me with "I'm in" but I have not received registration p.m.'s
Cut off for registration will be Friday april 25
For those who have registered, your cgn name will be posted in the lists in the thread in events and gatherings forum
Final info and directions will be sent out to all the confirmed attendees on the 21st
See ya'll soon

I gotta get over and see you guys in alberni.... How's the fishin? Still got yer boat?

My apologies to OP for intruding in this thread.

Thomas - I must be using old email address and phone number for you. Can you get hold of me regarding M14? Thanks!

Cheers,
Chris

You bet chris, I'll pm you shortly. My personal email is allwaysfishin@hotmail.com
I no longer use m14doctor@hotmail and I know a lot of guys try and reach me via that email.
Magwedge is continuing to hold ownership of m14doctor.com for some reason .... So I don't use the name or email anymore.

Thanks for putting on the clinic, 45acpking. Great opportunity to really tear down your rifle and get right into the guts of it!

... now I want a shorty and a vltor stock. :D

Great day with the rifles. Thanks for putting on the event. Now I have an excuse to go buy more/new tools.

Makin the drive home back to tha sticks late tonite.
Wanna thank all you guys for coming out for the 2 days of M14 tunin fun.
Lots more new faces, a few familiar faces. A VERY nice springfield shorty came to the clinic and she was a keeper. No tweaks needed on that girl.
As usual we banged off flash hiders, gave ourselves hernias and crossed eyeballs leanin on the receiver wrench and staring at levelling bars reindexing barrels.
Sometimes all it takes is a correctly made flash hider to fix an "index" issue as we found out on a few perfectly indexed from china rifles.
Big props to Tony for preppin and BBQin up the tasty moose burgers AND takin a short day at work to be back in time on monday to make sure the guys got their gas systems unitized. Tony doesn't do the internet forum thing but he sure supports the crap outta us M14 Nutz.

Anyhow, as arnie says.... I'll be back LOL
Next clinic TBA

Great... bring on more clinics.. I'm so glad that this is happening for you Westerners! Tony is the master welder! He still has my handiwork on my teaching M14 gas cylinder! :)

And yes, as Thomas says, many of the chinese FS units are goofy and out of spec. Simply changing to an M1A unit will likely sort out any canted sight concerns. I should know, I've knocked off many chinese FS units to replace them with M1A FS unit and then clamp the parallels on ...... to discover the barrels are all indexed properly. At the Jan 2014 Bradford TacOrd clinic we did THREE Norinco rifles and all of them were indexed properly. Wowsers!

Cheers and well done out there in BC.

Barney

I had an absolute blast (and a couple of the aforementioned moose burgers, mmmm). I would highly recommend one of these clinics to anyone interested in the M14 platform. I came in thinking I had a pretty good handle on these rifles, and learned a whole bunch. Thanks again Thomas, it was a great experience.

Been talkin with tony about when we can get the shop for the next West Coast. M14 Support Group clinic.... Looks like we have some fishin trips to work around...... So we're looking at JUNE 7 and 8 (sat/sun) for a 2 day clinic with a possible monday as well for those who can't make the weekend.
If there's enough interest, I'll fire up a thread in events and gatherings forum.
* reason it's there and not here is, it was asked (by admin ) that sign ups and events info threads be posted there ;)
You guys up for another round??
