.223 Ammo Holder For Hunting With Single Shot?

I bought an Allen rifle ammo sleeve to put on the butt stock of my H&R Ultra. The .223 rounds basically disappear in the "tubes", (plus I have decided not to put a holder on the rifle). I want to have a holder that I can attach to my sleeve or the chest of my coat. Any ideas what might suit, and be sized for .223? I want something that leaves the rounds sticking out enough that I can easily get my fingers on them.

A small zip top cell phone case works good. I've used them for a while for rimfire. For cf you could insert a piece of closed cell foam to hold the rounds for easy access

what about a sling with shell holders? or the "Bell " method of holding 2 extra sticking out of your support hand fingers

a proper butt stock ammo holder always served me well on my single shot rifles. .223 to 50-70
they are easy to build even with the most rudimentary of tools

It looks like a .357 ammo holder could work for .223, so I'll look for something along those lines.

I have a neoprene shell holder on my single shot 410. fast easy access. twice now I have emptied all 6 when coming across a flock of grouse.
works great as the gun is usialy on the front rack on the quad
