Okay maybe a little carried away on the thread title but I figure if there can be a thread to show off every other black rifle out there then I figure with the growing popularity of the XCR line-up it was time to have our own thread. Post any and every pic of your XCR. Mods things you've added or taken away and why.

I've added a few things, this XCR is last gen but has been totally converted over to the current model minus the light barrel. I know it lightens things up a fair bit but I like the heavy barrel. I've also removed the fast spider folding stock added an adaptor plate in installed the magpul ctr mil-spec collapsible buttstock, as well as replaced the stock grip with the pistol grip style of which the brand name is currently escaping me. On the forward part of the gun on the lower ladder rail I've attached a magpul afg and a forward vet tickle grip with internal bipod. Although time not sure if I like the look of it yet I think I prefer the Fab Defense T-Pod. But I might just get rid of it altogether in favour of a standard short bipod. For optics I have the Aimpoint 3x magnifier on swing mount and the Aimpoint Comp ML3 which allows me to co-witness the iron sights which I definitely like. I would however like some side rail ladder covers. Other than that I'm thinking of a paint job for it but not sure yet. Almost forgot has an MLC brake on it. Haven't fired with all the new goodies yet so I'm pretty excited.

Late 2013 rev j xcr-l in .223
- magpul od green ladder rails
- burris QD pepr
- redfield battlezone 3-9x42
- nail polish for the engraving colouring
- od green fast stock
- magpul moe+ od grip

Next upgrade I want is the lantac dragon muzzle brake

Keep in mind the rail covers come down far enough on the sides that your afg won't be able to slide past it. You could cut them, but the full length won't work.

Ya I'd have to do a little cutting for sure, I only want like 2.5" of covers at the back of the ladders to break up the profile a bit more for cosmetics than anything else.

I'm loving the white engraving out lining you did bowzy must have taken a seriously steady handy and a super fine paint brush. I'm not sure what it is but I'm a sucker for tastefully done two tone rifles and you both have accented them nicely. I was looking for that tan color when I first purchased mine illae but the deal was black so black it is but not for long I'm mostly convinced on a paint job.

this picture right here is what made me change my opinion on the xcr and go ahead and try one :) will have it by may when back from vacation!
one beautiful xcr!!! im definitely going to do the nail polish in the lettering and the selector.

Does your magnifier side flip? I wanted to have my optics farther to the rear of the rail but it's on a swivel mount so if it's any farther back it won't swivel because of the rear iron sight :( That being said I can still see the Comp ML3 just fine farther up the rail with the magnifier flipped to the side.....almost forgot why'd you go back to the fast stock?

Quiet the opposite really. Search on YouTube for "nail polish gun engraving". Tons of how to's. It's regular nail polish your lady would own, slap it on all over the area, then use acetone free nail polish remover lightly on top. The paint in the engravings is untouched and you have a perfect looking paint job. Doesn't affect the black paint and easy to remove if you change your mind.

That is a really cool range, everything you need is right there. Awesome! What's the farthest distance?

Oh and .. why is your gun on the bench during a green flag :)

Goes out to 300m. It is a great range...
Range is active flag was red but firing line flag was green because I had just arrived and just pulled out the rifle. One of the joys of arriving at 7am is that you have the range to yourself :). Never seen anyone unbench their rifle on the firing line green, range officer ensures unloaded and bolt open and no one is in front of firing line during firing line green. When changing or checking targets too but same applies. Range officer ensures no one is in their bay, in front of the firing line while flag is green and targets are being changed. Only time anyone can handle a firearm after all have been proven safe is for firing line flag to be red and range officer gives the nod to everyone that range is live. Range is active flag stays red as long as anyone is there.
Keep in mind I have only been a member of this club and it could be that different ranges have different rules.

Here is mine, G model with the Hilux scope in .223 and a dedicated upper for 7.62X39 with an Aimpoint. Used to have the fast stock and then I converted. Now that spring is here she is going to get another work out.

Never looked into a separate upper for mine, I knew you could change calipers easily enough never looked into how much though. Still can't get to our outdoor range crazy winter and spring rain make for an interesting off-road drive for the brave as it's a good 10k into the bush.
