Aguila rimfire ammo

Only one thing to do, buy 50 and see how it fires in your rifle. I have a cabinet full of 50's to see how it's going to shoot in my new 455. Too find the best ones. Give them a try and let a fella know.

Hello Jim,

It's not bad ammo and made in Mexico. Depending on what shooting discipline you are doing it should be fine. If you are target shooting their are better brands and I would lean towards Eley, RWS, or Lapua.

Didn't think you could get this item in Canada, where can this be found.

Gun show tables and the occasional indian reserve gun shop. And every now and then, in the possession of some ignorant that did not have a clue how miserable he could be if caught at the border exporting ammo from the US.

Been a couple outfits 'supposed' to be doing the approval paperwork to import it over the last few years, but, among other reasons, the North American distributor is in the US of A, and can happily sell ALL they can get on the home turf, without having to dink about with the paperwork and fees... Well, you figure the odds.

Not available yet but may be coming, keep watching.

Jim

That's been the story for the last 8or so years that I have been here on CGN. Keep waiting. Same old answer.

You got better info than that? Becuse "Sombody I heard about is going through the process" has come up here about a half dozen times.

The Aguila ammo I remember was better than the Russian stuff (which failed to fire on a regular basis, and stunk) but wasn't anything special.

Standard story..."That which we cannot get, must be better!" They have some interesting specialty types of ammo but in the long run, I dunno that it'll be worth the wait.

It's been a while since I bought ammo in the States but you used to be able to bring back up to 5K. I guess this has all changed? If so is it our end or their end? TC

Theirs. Homeland Security and Anti-terrorist measures limiting the export of ammunition and military goods by people not registered to do so (which requires citizenship in the US), and, among other things, the exporter, which is what a guy that buys ammo *if he could find it* in the US and takes it OUT of the US of A, is, must be registered and paid up for their licenses, and the maker of the product has to be registered and paid up.

Royal, expensive PITA, when the small makers can sell all the custom gun parts they can make in their own back yard, as can the ammo maker these days.

Canadian law may well allow you to bring it in, but to get it out of the states, requires some work to do legally.

There is some info in the stickies at the top of the forum index.
