Calgary Easter show - early input

I'm still chuckling reading this thread.....a matching no4T at a decent price of 1500-2000. The scope and bracket would sell for that. A matching no4T at that price would be theft. The other dealers would have snapped that up long before the doors even opened. Even if someone did suddenly put one on their table, it would be gone in the time it took you to read the response to this thread.

But as to the show, I had a good day, made a few buys, lots of sales, and met a lot of guys with the same interests. Not sure if I will have any voice left for tomorrow.

Has anyone seen any K31 chargers or 8mm Mauser ammo (spitzer bullet .323 diameter)?

Going tomorrow morning, need to know who to talk to.

Calgary Shooting Centre had a box of K31 chargers hidden away in a corner at their retail location (not at the gun show itself).

There was some neat kit to be had but one had to search and deal.

My friend found a nice 1945 Jungle Carbine with 80%+ of the Green Paint/Teflon for $450

I found some East German 8mm Kurz for $20 per box of 15 rounds - I should have bought more, a 1917 Remington Bayonet for my Trench Gun for $70 (US flaming bomb, Eagle and Canadian Broad Arrow marked), 3x 91/30 pouches for $5.00, and a LongBranch 1942 Boys Anti Tank Gun Arsenal training display shadow box (I have tried buying this three times from the dealer and he finally caved).

Big regret of the day is I didn't buy a WWII BSA paratrooper folding bicycle.

Post show, I made a phone call deal for a K43 barreled action, front band, East German Stock set and bolt handle for a very reasonable price. This will help me unspoterize another G/K43 that I am picking up.

So overall a good show, but as I mentioned one needed to really search for kit.

Regards

Any all matching No. 4 Mk1 T's around at the show for a decent price (~$1500 - $2000)?

Just moving the decimals a few places, you might be able to have a few Burgers, a Coke and some Rolaids there for $15.00 to $20.00!

Key word of that statement being "had".

I've been pestering them for K31 chargers ever since I bought the rifle and ammo from them!

I didn't find a single K31 charger for sale anywhere at the gun show, I didn't even find vendors who had sold out of them!

I managed to find some 8x57 for $10/20. I took all the vendor had left (except for some rounds that were in a fabric belt, they didn't look quite right to me), 160 rounds.

Stuff I bought was some East Bloc ?, thinking Yugoslavian, packed in 15 rd. packets. Guy had quite a pile of it in a wooden ammo box.

Grizz

Never saw anything like that, dammit. Is your surplus on stripper clips? I have a packet of 15 with what appears to be Cyrillic or an Eastern European language on it that does have the ammo on stripper clips.

Still had a few dozen at their store when I stopped by earlier today. Bayonets were almost gone though. You might have to pester a few employees until you find one that realizes what the little cardboard and metal contraptions actually are.

Who did you talk to?? I've talked to several who've said they didn't have any.....

Some neat stuff there - prices in general a bit higher than I'm used to elsewhere, but not unreasonably so and not out of bargaining range.

Lots of stuff I wasn't expecting too - from the g43 barreled action and parts to all sorts of varied uncommon firearms. Not much in the way of project guns, but good variety. I inadvertently picked up a project but have it mostly fixed now, so all good :p

Like I said, I seriously doubt the majority of the staff even know what they are. Talk to Markus or ask where the K31 bayonets are (or used to be) since they're next to each other. Or look for the freestanding rack of what seems to be consignment guns near the management offices at the front, they're in a cardboard box there.

When you walk through the doors, they are located on your right hand side on the free-standing rack right outside their office
