New Arrivals: the Holy Grail of Mosin Nagants !!! Finnish M39 Rifles in 7.62x54R

Mine has the following writing (word?) on the Bolt. Can anyone explain what this is?

Imperial era Izhevsk inspection stamps for passing gauging. Totally normal. Does not translate to anything. They are the initials of the factory workers that gauged it 100+ years ago.

Sup brahs. Finally shot my baby. I suck with iron sights because of my damaged eye. Need to wear close distance lenses to see the sights- however this makes the target very blurry. In any case I sort of got used to the sights but I certainly noticed my rifle shoots a tad high and tad to the left.

In any case shes a beast and certainly a beautiful milsurp.

The four letters in the middle are “CCCP” which in the Cyrillic (Russian) alphabet is Союз Советских Социалистических Республик which in English translation means: Soyuz Sovetskikh Sotsialisticheskikh Respublik or the Union of Soviet Socialist Republics which simply means the former Soviet Union in short. There are some symbols before and after which are most likely some proofing marks. This bolt without any doubt was manufactured in the former Soviet Union.

I've got some Lapua 7.62x 53R brass coming. The dies I have come with the .308 neck.
Has anyone checked or found if these barrels are .308 or .311??? Or a worn .308?
Any best bet for bullet type and weight?
Type of powder ? IMR 4064 shows up in the Sierra book?

i finally had a chance to take mine out last weekend (1944 VKT) that came from Tradex
first of all, the rifle looks brand new, in and out and its got a war time stock that looks minty & flawless.... Thank You Anthony & David
we tried it with MFS 185 grain fmj with satisfactory results, while Bulgarian surplus was even better....pumpkins were gettin blown at 150 & 200 yards with ease....im one happy camper with this one

I've have decided to sell the one I got. PM me if anyone is interested. I havent even shot it yet.

I'm not the internet police or a moderator, but its kind of rude to advertise a gun you bought from Tradex in their forum.
Maybe review the rules, you should edit your post before someone spanks your PP!

Just a FYI.. Iraqveteran 8888 did some load testing and he thinks this is good
Lapua 200 gr bullets D166
3.0 OAL
Lapua brass
42.8 gr. VihtaVuori N 140
2295 fps with a average 2290 fps
They tried this in different guns and it seems to work well. This is a lot higher load then what the powder manufactuer says is max???

Same here, wish they imported a new crate. I'm currently looking for a M39 myself and it's been quite difficult. Hopefully I can stumble on one in the milsurp EE once I'm given access.
