Remington 700 PCR SB Shorty

Maybe because LE/MIL don't clear houses with bolt action rifle... We speak of a 10.5 bolt gun here in case you forgot.

for sure a 308 win will more powerfull than a 300 BLK but most of that power will make it unpleasant to shoot making it pointless. personally, it seems like a silly idea to me. Based on my limited experience with a 12' 330 BLK I would guess a 12″ 308 with 150 grain bullets would give you similar velocities with a 125 grain projectile(2300 fps) with far less blast and concussion. A 12 inch 308 win will require you to wear double ear protection and it will still be unpleasant to shoot.

Short barrel 308 Win are great and I own a 16.5''. But shorter than 16.5 inch you start to loose alot.

First, whether it's a bolt gun or semi has no significant bearing on ballistics so I'm not sure why you bring that up.

Second, The difference from a 18" 308 to a 13.5" 308 is a loss of 166fps. (2616 fps vs 2450fps). The 308 w/110gr bullet goes 2670fps from a 13.5" barrel, which is over 350fps faster than the same weight in a 300bo.

If you look at the numbers, rather than subjective opinions, the 308 is far better regardless of barrel length - and this isn't even factoring in the fact that the 300bo version comes with a shorter barrel. The only advantage to the 300bo is the ability to use subsonic rounds, but with no suppressors in Canada that advantage means nothing.

Ahhh All these left-handed elitist... :)

We can’t help it that we were made that much better than the rest lol.

if you like big bangs, and big fireballs, it makes perfect sense.
i'm in for the .308 lol.

Hells yeah, I want one on sheer muzzle blast alone. Big Bang, big flash = big grins. Would pair up well with my 12.5” barreled 870, I don’t even care that I can’t get one in a LH action lol. I’d hunt with it just because I can, I rarely shoot at game past 100yds locally so this would be suitable. I’m sure it would be fine out to 200yds as well.

100% correct. ^^

lol I had to laugh when he said " because its a bolt gun not semi-auto"

Break-action, lever-action, semi-auto, bolt action has absolutely nothing to do with the velocity of a projectile.

Another vendor is advertising the 308 version as 6.15 lbs for the braced version, swap out for the CTR and its roughly 6.25 lbs...

If the 308 is sub 7 lbs naked I am soooooo IN

TFB weighed a 300bo model, and it came in at 7lb 7oz with a brace. I don't see how the 308 version could be 6.15lbs??

Just checked out their review, thanks for the heads up even if it took some of the wind outta my sails!

I was a bit skeptical with the other vendors optimistic weight numbers

If "another" vendor is offering these for just over $1000 USD it would be reasonable to expect this rifle to come in around $1400 CAD to $1500 CAD after exchange, import fees, duty and whatever other nonsense the Trudeau government charges.

This is beautiful, and I would purchase one, but......

adjustable butt stock,
pistol grip,
magazine and it's black!!

That's an "Military Style Assault" bolt action rifle. Doctors and Liberals will ban this for sure!!

I just couldn't resist.

Maybe this is a stupid question, but don’t Centerfire rifles need to have 18.6” minimum barrels to be non restricted?? How could this possibly be NR?

There is no minimum barrel length for a manually operated longarm, and all rimfires; the thing must exceed 26" when in firing order. This does not apply if the firearm's barrel has been sawed off. Lower limit there is 18".
The 18.5" lower limit is for autoloading centerfire longarms. Below that they are restricted.

hmm, this might be a perfect fit for me in that case. gotta say accuracy in a small package to haul off to the farm range is very appealing. will definitely keep an eye on this.

Its a Remington 700 PCR with a short barrel. It should have comparable accuracy to a 700 PCR with a longer barrel, as barrel length doesn't have an appreciable effect on accuracy.
