CZ 600 Trail .223Rem 16"

Has anyone had the chance to play with both the .223 and 7.62? I am toying with a trail as a pack gun/ deer gun but I’m hesitant to use .223 on deer.

I have a bunch of .223 and mags already. But I’m wondering if the 7.62 is better as a pack gun?

I'm not sure about the Ontario regs but 223 is not a legal calibre for big game in Alberta.
 
I wish that we could use 22 cal on deer. My 22-250 would be a great rifle for my boy to use on white tail. Instead I've got a 7-08 that he is going to learn to like.
 
15 inches or so, then you would have to start blocking the stocks ability to collapse.

Internet reports it as 27" collapsed as is out of the box.
