Lee Enfields

Received mine today;
Overall impression was good. All matching Longbranch from 1950. Some cosmoline still in the bolt and barrel. Under the wood. Well you can tell they weren't stored in preservation for a while. A decent amount of surface rust and some pitting. But as to be expected from the last of the surplus original rifles.
Bore was a decent 5 groove and lots of life. Draws in the wood were intact and the wood is oil soaked but not cracked. Finish is 90% intact. All parts are there and nothing is broken.

A little tlc required. But cleaning up to be a good shooter and collectors peice.

Hope this helps anyone make a decision or not.

Thanks, pretty much the most useful post.

Maybe in 1960s they were under $20 but not the 80s for an unscrewed with LB in decent shape.

My dad bought his 1911 BSA sporter from simpson sears in the later part of the 60's for 25.00
His was drilled and tapped for a weaver t-01 dovetail mount and for my entire life it wore a bushnell banner scope
These days it is one of my deer hunting rifles and wears a custom rail and a busnell 2-7x32 engage scope.
Might not be in mislurp condition but as a sporter, she is a very fine rifle.

Apples and oranges.
