The gsg16 isnt a muzzle attachment. The barrel is there the whole length. The short one require stock pinning, iirc.

Still, i would rather my vtr over the 10/22 tac builds. The sr22 however is a strong contender for my tac 22 needs.

It was the GSG 15 SD (SCAR clone special edition that had a fully "suppressed" barrel shroud instead of the regular barrel). The notice was that the manufacturer used a shorter barrel/shroud than the Standard edition that resulted in accidental restricted SCAR-15's being sold. The notice said that replacement of the shroud with a longer one would keep the rifles Non-restricted.

RCMP is inconsistent of how firearms get measured.

Exactly what I did. Even got the best shield and just waiting on the rail/iron sights now.

Brakes don't count to OAL.

Yes they do, OAL length in firing condition is end to end(not including accessories like lights etc)
Assuming the brake is torqued on and cannot be removed without tools.

Brakes don't count for barrel length however.

That is not correct, brakes and stock pads do count towards AOL. We went through that when we had gotten the TROY PAR approved for Canada.

We have written correspondence that states that.
