SHOT SHOW 2013: Intrepid RAS-12 AR-12 tactical shotgun

I noticed they call it an AR10 upper. The AR10 or AR308 platform isn't as universal as the AR15. For instance they show this upper on a DPMS 308 lower. So the DPMS and Remington R25 lowers will be compatible. Possibly POF lowers as well, and Mega. Armalite/Cadex/Niveske systems and KAC/LMT system lowers won't be as they use a different system.

Cost is also something to consider. The DPMS and Remington lowers are the cheapest in the 308AR world but they will still cost you more than an AR15 lower.

It's interesting. The new ammo looks cool.

Yeah, I'm not too hip on the various AR-10 versions, but the guy I talked to said the rear portion of the lower varies a bit. Some have a radius and other have a 45 degree chamfer between the horizontal and the vertical. The gun in my photos has the radius, seen most clearly in the 3rd photo.
The RAS-12 is made in two versions to account for this.
There is some differences in the magwell as well, IIRC.

I should add, I'm very interested in the mags for these. TooTall do you know the dimensions of these new rounds compared to .308? Could use some some 50 BW equivalents for the 308 AR!!

One year bump!

I was reading over this thread from 2013 SHOT, as I referenced it in my 2014 report.

As I mentioned there, the feed lips have to be opened up so far to allow the 12 gauge round to fit that it will simply not hold .308 rounds at all.
So the answer to "how many will it hold?" is NONE.
I hate to have to be the destroyer of dreams...
