Or a 16" mid-length. That's the next thing in my AR list.. And I'm probably the only wierd one on here that like the fixed front sight base opposed to a low profile gas block. K.I.S.S.

14.5" (mid lenght) with a 12" flatop round handguard (if its a low profile gas block) or a 9" quad rail if with a A2 front sight.

Definitely do a flat top round handgaurd that you can add your own shorter rail sections to sides and bottom, with built in QD sling points. 10.5 - 12.5 for barrel length.
