I guess that is why the OP calls it the "CECIL EFFECT".
we had a Cecil effect in Saskatoon unfortunately. An african trophy hunting show had to be moved from one location to another

Even if this fact were to go mainstream media, do you really think that it would be regarded by the people who caused it as being their fault? Do you actually believe that even one of them would stand up and take responsibility for their actions and the consequences these actions have created? This issue would get spun so fast so as to be the consequence of hunting somehow, that they would make a Liberal policy spin Doctor proud. Pointing out the flaw in their thinking and the consequences to prove it is completely irrelevant to them............."There must be too many lions because they over hunted some other animal".............
Anti-hunters couldn't care less about animals, they just want to end hunting. If they had to kill every wild animal in the world to end hunting they would do it. Right after that they would eliminate all domestic animals to save them from getting eaten.
Oh spank............try 25K a pop...........
Didn't realize it was that much?!! I used to hang out at Kap River Outfitters on my days off during the winter wood haul at Spruce Falls back in the late 90's to late 2000's and got to meeet and listen to many of Pete's clients talking about their Africa hunts. I almost choked on my dinner one evening when one of his clients said he paid $30K U.S for a Rhino tag and $50K for an Elephant tag. Those were his last two to complete the Big 5. I was shocked as I had no idea of the costs. It was a good experience meeting all those guys and learning how African hunting worked and was a great education as well learning how both local villagers and wildlife benefitted from the system in place over there.
Small world... we may actually have met at one point.... Peter is a great guy and his wife is a hell of a cook.....

Pete and Terry are two of the finest, hands down. Yes you never know Brad we may have met? I am sure the reason they always had me come around was to answer their clients questions on the particulars of the winter wood harvest. At least it seemed that way at times! LOL
Nice..... they could become People Eaten by Terrifying Animals.....
I was there in January of 2004, 2006, 2009 on timberwolf hunts.... Peter's stories are awesome and they are such great hosts.... and the way they have their home set up to give you privacy makes them top notch....

I met Pete 33 years ago, 1983 on the field trial circuit. He was running a real good black lab named Reggie Jackson. The dog was winning open class titles and age wise it was only a junior class dog. Pete is a heck of a trainer. They were living in New Liskeard in those days. I started going to Kap each winter beginning in '97 to work the wood haul between end of construction season lay-off and spring start up. Pete and Terry were in Kap by then so I stopped in to say hello one day and received an open invitation to have dinner with them and their clients on my days off. I also used to run and pick up their baits on days off as a favour so as not to lose a guide on hunt days. I had a great time with them and their clients and friends. I would assume then you know Shiny and Ryan? My last winter there was 2007.
What the heck do you have in that picture? That is one funky looking bear!
I posted it on their Facebook page congratulating them on their efforts. Also posted it publicly on my Facebook page again applauding animal rights groups (what an irony that is) for their dedication to stupidity and selfish arrogance.Every member of PETA should be forced to keep one at home.
