Hey guys did some reloading for 0.303 brit last night and my rifle was having trouble with cycling the shells into the chamber from the Magazine. I then proceeded to tinker and seat the bullet much farther into the case until it cycled properly. My question is its probably at least 0.125 icnhes off the lans and will this hurt my barrel or chamber ? and will this kill my accuracy ?

Thanks

It shouldn't hurt anything but accuracy. I have a remington 700 in 30-06 that I can't seat 150 grain flat base bullets closer than 0.25" from the lands and still have them secured in the case mouth.

What gr bullet are you using? I personally have had trouble with 150 SP and won't use them now; I stick with 174 RN, I find they feed much better.

As for your question regarding damage and accuracy, what they said^^^

It is perfectly normal for any milsurp .303 (or most other milsurp rifles) to have the maximum OAL for magazine feeding considerably less than the OAL set by the chamber throat.

Im playing with loads so I was loading 0.311 150 gr barnes TSX (do no if there good or not ) ??? 150 gr speer SP, and 125 grn sierra SP ? Im using good old 3031 IMR powder. Gramps swore by it for this gun.

Also Barnes a stupid expensive but are they worth it thinking about loading them into my 30-06?
