000 buckshot reloading

Good day all.

I recently picked up a lee 000 buckshot mold and cast a few hundred balls.

When looking for a recipe I found surprise, there was very little data for buckshot reloading, and I cant find any 000 12ga recipes.

I haven't reloaded shotgun before, and am a little overwhelmed with the selection of wads, fillers, powders, and hulls. Especially when I cannot find a 000 buckshot recipe.

I saw one video where a guy was using cornmeal and wa112f wads and cornmeal, and other posts where guys say to just use 00 recipes.

Does anyone have any advice for a noob shotgun reloader, or can point me in the right direction?

Fyi I have a lee load all.

5th Edition Lyman Shot shell Reloading Handbook page 354 shows 2 Recipes for 000 Buckshot in the 12 Ga 2.3/4 in Federal Gold Medal Plastic Cases.

And yes, .... there aren't too many recipes around for 000 in 12ga .... one reason might be that 000 stacks in rows of 2 pellets in a 12ga hull ... so you are not using the hull space as efficiently with that combination ... and they don't stack at all in a 12ga wad ... :-(

The most popular size for 12ga is probably 00 and because it stacks nicely in rows of 3 pellets (without a wad) ...

Also, #4 Buck stacks in rows of 7 ... and #1 Buck stacks in rows of 4 .... (12ga without a wad)

CastBoolits is a good place to learn .... here is a recipe for a heavy 12 pellet 000 load in 12ga with BlueDot powder:
