1,000 Yard Ranges In Alberta?

The town of Rosebud is between Drumheller and Standard. The original club, The Rosebud Silhouette Rifle Club, was on a farmers land near Rosebud, and thus it's name. This club moved to KCountry when the APRA ask them if they wanted to occupy some of the "hill" and this club is now the Rosebud Benchrest and Silhouette Club. It is the first gate you come to (on the right of you actually) when you drive down the Homestead Road - a dirt road that goes from Hiway 68, just past Bryant Creek, to the APRA ranges located on Moose MT in KCountry. The Next gate is to the Fullbore club, the Swiss Club and the RCMP Pistol range (just west of the Swiss Clubhouse). If you miss all of these, you will find yourself in a turn-around site at the end of the road and this is were the free Public range is that the APRA maintains as part of the lease agreement with ID5 - KCountry.

Hope this helps ya'..

About 40 miles/60 km west of Edmonton, just up the hill from the Genesee bridge. Take 16 west from Edmonton, and turn south on Mink Lake Rd. Stay on that road and drive south. Cross the bridge and drive up the hill. Most of the way up the hill, on the right hand side, is a gravel road. Take a right there and then take an immediate left. Drive west on this road until it turns north, shortly after that turn east on to another road. Drive east, straigt through the stop sign equipped intersection, and follow the road down into the valley. At the bottom, on the right hand side is the range. Day passes are available in Edmonton from Lock and Load on 115 th Ave and 157th St and P&D on 115th St and 105th Ave. I believe a day pass is $10, but I don't buy them, a membership is only $55 per year, and well worth it. - dan
