1/2" hole-puncher for BP wads?

I've been trying to find a mechanical 1/2" hole punch for making my own wads for black-powder cartridge reloading. Wads are from wax paper and milk carton. Right now I use a .50-calibre casing with the mouth sharpened: push and twist - cookie-cutter-style - to cut out the wads, but it's slow and hard on the fingers.

I checked out an arts and craft supply store, and they had 1/8", 1/4", 1" and 1 1/2" hole punches, but no 1/2" in their catalogue.

Anyone out there know of any? I know that they're available commercially from BCPR suppliers, but I was hoping for something simple and less costly.

You could get a arch punch, Acklands Grainger has them and there $16 just put it on the paper and strike with a hammer. I have used them lots for making gaskets and they work really well just make sure you use it on a piece of scrap wood.

I bought a set there for making gaskets.

If you want to spend a bit more money you can buy reloading press mounted ones from buffalo arms I have one for my 45-70

I've got some Princess Auto punches that I use in the drill press. Ten minutes makes me enough for months of shooting.
