I don't know what planets aligned today, but I've never shot better than this before in my life. Set up my target at 200M with my 45-70 Pedersoli rolling block to test a few loads I've been working on.
I couldn't believe it when I'd look through the spotting scope and they kept going into almost the same hole. The Lyman bullet grouped 4 out of 5 shots into a group under an inch at 200M, and 3 of those shots were in .345"!!!
The whole 5 shot group was under 2".
The Lee bullet did extremely well too.
I wiped between each shot with two patches damp with 20-1 Ballistol and water.
The Lyman load was 62.5 gr Swiss 1.5 fg, .02 card, .06 poly wad, Winchester LR primer and 457132 bullet cast from 20-1 alloy and lubed with SPG.
The Lee load was 62.5 gr Olde Eynsford 1.5 fg, .02 card, .068 fiber wad, Winchester LR primer, Lee 459-500-3R bullet cast from 50/50 pure lead/wheelweights and lubed with 50/50 beeswax/Shea butter.
I'll try these out at 420 yds next week, and see how they hold up.
