1/4 MOA Challenge

Maynard is just applying standard F Class rules for factory class to the shoot.

So how many people that have posted about shooting 1/4 moa groups, have posted that they did so according to F Class Rules?
How many posted that they shot those groups at 300 yards?
How many posted that they did so without using sandbags or a one piece rest?
How many posted that they did so prone off of a bipod?

The bottom line is that most people posted 100 yard groups shot off of sandbags or one piece rests,so specifying conditions such as 300 yard groups or no sandbags, will in no way prove or disprove their claims about shooting 1/4 moa groups of of sandbags at 100 yards.

My gun is worth more than your Neon:p The challenge stands at 300m. You might be disappointed in what I am shooting, I have iron sights on it. It's just a Plain Jane HHE Millennium action and trigger in a laminated Reiben stock with a 1:12" Bartlein thats 30" long in .308 with an Obermeyer chamber. If you want to load me up some ammo it likes Lapua brass, Fed 210 match primers, 46 gr of Varget and 155.5 Bergers;)

Sure I'll load you some ammo up...what was that recipe...46 gr of Bullseye ;)...oh wait, right, Varget.

Why are you picking nickles over this?
How many guys posted what setup they used to produce these remarkable results?

As if any of that Cr@p makes a difference anyway.... these guys couldnt do it from a concrete block. That's the point. "Real Shooters" know what is realistic even from very good custom rifles, and from factory guns, which is why they spent the money on the custom rig in the first place. Maynard knows that, he sees these guys all the time on intro days, hunting camp etc.

C'mon, we all know these characters... the big mouths at the gun store and break time at work... the keyboard experts ... etc.

Hey what the heck, if it makes everybody feel beter, these guys can bring thier own cement, just clean up the mess before they leave the range.

And I'll chair the guy myself if he ever pulled it off.

I think people are missing the entire point of Maynard's thread. The point was to get people out to the range, shoot in real world conditions, have some fun, meet some great people and maybe, just maybe, get their range fees paid for out of his own pocket.

Jeeeeeeeez people.......get a grip.

CyaN1de, thanks for that. We have a match at Bull Meadow this Sunday and we will do whatever it takes to help new shooters(or old) attend, either FClass or TR.

If a challenge works for Maynard, great. Do what you have to do, but promote organized shooting!

Regards,

Peter

I'll up Maynard's offer and pay the participation fee for any guy who can put up only a 5 shot group at 1/2 moa at 300 meters at Cedar Springs with a factory gun!
I have a replacement factory barrel on my 700VS. It is a 308win 700P barrel. I burned out the last 2. No mods, other than what is allowed, nothing fancy, just a good ol Remington 700. Can I use this sometime this summer? Does it count?

This reeks of a setup Terry and youre not exactly my target audience, but anyway...
Factory Gun?
In Factory Stock?
With Factory Barrel?
sure
c'mon down

That's all I read into it. Sounded like a friendly goof of a wager. Wish he said "3/4 MOA" then it'd be more of an invite to weekend shooters like me. Nonetheless, I might make my way up.

Don't worry Maynard, no way hes getting a 1/4 MOA group with a Remington anyways.:kickInTheNuts:

He's not after Tom for the 1/4 moa 5 shot group
He's after me for the 1/2 moa 5 shot group

But I'll take his bet just the same.
As long as his rifle qualifies for Factory F Class and As long as his barrel didnt find it's way off a 40xb

From most guys, I'd give them 1 in 20 odds at best
For Terry though, I figure more like 50/50

But just the same, I'll be sitting off to the side with one of those oriental hand fans, kicking up some cross breeze, just to play it safe

Sounds like Ishodu is coming out to Cedar Springs this Saturday, any other takers?
We also have July 10-11 open for those still wanting to get in on this challenge.

I had a great time today. What a great bunch of guys, Thanks for having me out!

Sorry I couldn't stay all day and that we had to pull our own targets. I would be very happy with that rifle you were shooting. The one relay we did get to shoot together and you dialed into the center of the target I didn't see you wondering too far from the V Bull. Great shooting, I hope to see you out again.
