1-4 or red dot question

I was thinking of buying something like the Burris XTS-135 for my 10/22 and then started thinking about getting a 1-4 scope instead. I realize this is a dumb question but..I assume at 1x you can shoot the rifle with both eyes open?

You can shoot any optic both eyes open. Anything over 5-6 power can be tricky for the eyes to work with. 4x and under is always both eyes open.

Suggestions. I haven't shot one but Bushnell offers a 1-4 in their banner lineup. I believe retail is around $100.

Thanks for the info but the circle X reticle doesn't work for me. I think Leupold has one that I might have to check out. Any others you know of?
