Do you have to be a member of the ORA to shoot there or is one able to come as a guest? I'd like to try this on the 16th and I'm also looking at entering your varmint match, I figure the 16th will be a good day to get familiar with the facilities

I am not a member of the ORA

This is open to non members only. The whole idea to to generate some interest in shooting at longer ranges. The Guest Fee for an ORA event is $45, on top of that if we have paid marking, there is another fee of $20 so the whole day will cost you $65. Now if you shoot a 1MOA, 10 shot group at 300m I pay for your day, out of my own pocket.

Sounds good, I'll be there on either the 15th or 16th depending on what the weather man says, any idea what time you'll be there? I just shot 3 consecutive groups at 300yards under 3" so we will see if I can do it with 10 in a row :)

Thanks again for a great day at your range . The butts crew were worth every dollar . :)
A shot of a nice range .

Not to mention I successfully did the challenge :)

Had a lot of fun! Looks like I'll be getting that ORA membership

The second picture is DASTT with his winning target face.

We are still waiting to hear back the results of his drug and urine test .

Congratulations again DASTT. Great shooting!

Thanks for the day Maynard, that money is going towards my ORA membership

Drug test came back positive for redbull :)

I will contact the ICFRA anti-drug committee just to make sure Redbull isn't on the list of forbidden performance enhancing drug list:p Very nice shooting by the way. Nice to see we have another winner this year and still more dates for others to attempt this. Now that you are buying a membership I am glad I shoot TR and don't have to shoot against you. I am sure we will cross paths at some other range this year.

@dastt, congratulations - winning the 1 MOA challenge is a lot more difficult in practice than it sounds. Well done, that's great shooting. And to do it with a factory rifle is even more impressive - you have a very fine shooting rifle there.

You're going to have an awful lot of fun shooting with the ORA...

;)
Thanks for the day Maynard, that money is going towards my ORA membership

Drug test came back positive for redbull :)

Very good shooting dastt. You know, I'm pretty good at recrowning with a hacksaw and an RCBS chamfer tool. Don't hesitate to ask at the ORA Provincials ;) if you come.

You guys need to do this at connaught!

The whole point of this exercise is to get new shooters (non-members) out to shoot without the pressures of competition. The pressure of trying to shoot a 1 MOA group with other club members watching is pressure enough. As for dastt, he is now buying a membership, came back out to shoot our varmint match and brought a buddy with him. And he is in the process of rebarrelling his rifle with a faster twist so he can shoot his .223 out to a 1000 yards. So for $65 of my own money, I have recruited another shooter.

I would like to see every PRA or some one in a club within their PRA to offer this challenge.

Are semi auto's allowed?

Can we use a pack as a rest?

While F Class does not have a rule excluding semi autos from competition, it does state that the rifle must be loaded with only single rounds. Mags can be used but only one round may be loaded into the mag. F/TR rules also state that a bipod or bipod and sling may be used in conjuction with a rear bag that is not attached to the bipod. If you want to use your pack as a rear bag, I don't see a problem.

I am attempting to keep this as close as possible to the F/TR rules without having to get the ICFRA officials down to monitor this.
