FWIW.
There seems to be a flame cut on the top strap.
What would a flame cut on the top strap be indicating of?

Forcing cone erosion started not even 3 months after I got it. I didn't even have a reloading machine at that point in time.
Maybe send those pics to Ruger.
Ask for an opinion on the cause.
And procedure for repair.
Just got some news - Ruger will send a replacement revolver as the frame may be damaged.
I will let you know once it is all resolved.
Pretty happy with Snapshots so far.

That’s great to hear.
I wonder how long that replacement warranty would go back? For example, what if the firearms was 2 or even 4 years old? Honestly, it should never happen so I’d like to think they would be good for it forever. But that’s pushing it I’m sure.
At this point thought I might just go ahead and sell it if I can have a good price for it since my 627-5 can handle both 38 spl and 357 mag. I've been eyeing the 460 XVR for a while. It may take up to 3 months to receive it.
Who would buy what? The 460XVR or the brand new never fired GP100 that's on its way?
