10,000+ Snow Goose Decoy Spread

To answer your question about landing zones etc. you have to set your decoys, or in this case position yourself to suit the wind. In a big spread you set so the birds will follow leaders up into the wind past your position to the main spread. There is an art and science to setting decoy's. But if they really want down bad they will land around you while your standing up in the set. But 98% of the time there real fussy.
I would imagine that spread pictured is left out from day to day except for daily changes due to wind direction. Illegal here but perhaps not there. Then again could all be a pile of BS like the fella says. Sure has my 20 goose decoys beat anyways.

Illegal where??? Ontario??

Large snow goose spreads by outfitters are normally put out and left out for the season.

E callers would be used with speakers placed in and around the landing zone to draw the birds into where you want them, probably along with some wind socks, flags, kites, etc.

This is real boys...That's Rick Hamm's spread, From "show me your snows" they are a snow goose outfitter from the states. They have just finished their season with over 2200 birds down so it must work....

I"ll see your skepticism and raise you 3 more photos!! :p:p

I stand corrected! That's a very impressive rig. I've been lucky enough to gun in a rig of 3300 and that was pretty sick.
I found this attached to one of their youtube videos "We are in Central Illinois, we are hunting over 13,000 decoys, 5,000 of them being Avery full bodies,"
