10/22 50th Anniversary and the modular stock

I bought a 50th Anniversary 10/22 last week and it came with a stock I hate. Its the same stock that's on the take down model. However, if you look on Ruger's website it shows a different version with a modular stock, black longer picatinny rail and mussel protector. I went back to Gone Fishing where I bought it and they said that the 50th 10/22 with the modular stock was a limited edition. I don't see anything on Ruger's website about two different anniversary 10/22's.

So I'm wondering, do Canadians get a (for lack of a better phrase) dumbed down 50th Anniversary model than the Americans? And, where can I get that modular stock? Do you guys think the Ruger modular stock is better quality than the after market versions? I have to get a better stock with longer reach and high comb height to reach my scope.

every 10/22 made this year gets the "50th Anniversary" stamp on the bolt and on the box.
but there is only one 50th Anniversary MODEL and that is the one with the modular stock and are Model number 11173.
so far there are non that i have seen in Canada of this particular model.
i have one on order from my gun dealer but his ETA on it is the same as all ruger items "it will get here hopefully within the next year to 18 months"

as for the stock, its the same one that is on the Ruger Rimfire American which i DO have and i enjoy it a lot.
