My kids and I have 4 Rugers 10/22s.
All like different ammo. Just read some of my notes.
These are all my averages for two 12 year olds and a 15 year old shooting.
After some help from several of the Long Range gurus at my club and
about 2000 plus rounds, each of the boys went from shooting 25 meter 3" groups to these groups at 50 meters. This summer was 30,000 plus rounds for the kids and I.
555 and blazzer are the best bang for the buck.
20 shot groups average under 3" at 50 meters
$20 for 500 rounds
Our blasting ammo with 25 round mags.
CCI standard 20 shot groups average under 2" at 50 meters
$35 for 500 rounds
Practice ammo for the TCRC Precision Long Range .22LR Match
300 yards with 22lr.
Lapua standard plus, Eley Sport
20 round groups average just over 1" at 50 meters
$50 for 500 rounds
Match ammo, we try to get at least 100 rounds down the barrel before we shoot
a match.
Eley Tenex , Eley Match
20 shot groups under 1" some real nice 5 shot groups under 1/2" at 50 meters
$150 for 500 rounds
I think this is the type of info you are looking for.
These are all averages, from shooting all summer, in all weather conditions, with
4 different people shooting.
I see this at the range all the time, some tard shows up with a brand new 10/22
and the cheapest ammo they can find. Then wont stop crying about how crappy their gun is.
I bought a CZ452 so my old 10/22 is now the ground hog/bush gun.
Shoots 2" groups at 50 meters with CCI stingers.
Hope some of this helps.
