I've been watching youtube, and researching, and DAMN.... I should do A LOT better than what I did at 100yrds.


My scope is a bushnell 3x9x40
 
Resting your barrel on anything does affect accuracy. That's why most barrels are free float.
You also use the same scope as me. The target you picked to rate accuracy isn't the best either. You can make your own up, that would suit your needs better. Velocitors aren't the most accurate bullets.

Stingers were the best in my rifle, followed by Mini mags. I will post a picture of my target, that way you can get an idea of what you can make. :)

In your pictures you have your barrel resting directly on your support, you'll find it will shoot much better if you move the support under the forearm of your stock, or at least it should anyways.

Oh really... I had NO idea that resting the barrel on the rest will play havoc on my shots....


I just seen the idea for that bench rest off youtube.

Why will it make a difference of the stock compared to the barrel on the rest??
 
as you shoot the barrel resonates and the whole point of free floating a barrel is to ensure the barrel resonates the same each time...

unless you place it on exactly the same spot and with the same pressure you change the way it resonates.

So unless your perfect your going to slightly change your POI every time you fire the rifle

the bench rest idea using a scissor jack is great it's just your placement of the gun on the rest that's the problem

mmmm.... I do agree that I DID move my gun as per placement for each shot.... WOW I'll have to do some more homework and get a better design built!
 
your design is good just move your front rest back a bit
