10/22 aftermarket stock / chassis

Hey everyone,
I’m considering doing a 10/22 build, definitely leaning towards a take down but maybe would do a regular rifle off a tuff receiver, and 8” barrel (or 9” take down) with a barrel from tactical solutions.

Anyways with an ‘SBR’ inspired build, any good suggestions for an aftermarket stock? Ideally I’d love to use something like what Midwest industries has done, but I’d rather not have to wait 3 months to import from the states.

I have looked into this recently... boyds makes nice laminate stocks (my second choice). there are a few companies that make plastic stocks like hogue or magpul but i didnt trust them for being wobbly or soft.

spectre makes (unobtainable) aluminum chassis that look nice. dlask also makes an aluminum chassis that I ended up getting. The dlask one looks weird in pictures but better IRL, it looks weird but that is for nice ergonomic features. another main reason i got it is that it has extra mounting points for the action (if you use tuff or mod a ruger action). considering the flimsy mount of a 10/22 that seemed important.

you can also recycle your useless AR furniture on it....

The Dlask one is an MDT chassis isn't it?
I used a couple of Axiom stocks for my kids DAR 22s with a 12.5" Dlask barreled action to keep it NR length with a minimalist butt stock collapsed if need be for the kids shorter lop. It was the lightest one I could find and is plenty sturdy to use a bipod or arca mount on the bottom of it. My arca plates are just attached with screws and nuts. 5 lbs with a Leupold 2-7. If you plan on using a collapsible AR style stock you will require a 12.5" ish barrel instead of the 8". Or you can use longer fixed stocks too with the 8".

You can also go the AR route if you're going more for looks than precision. CSC was clearing out an aluminium AR-style chassis earlier this year. Might be able to find one on the EE if you put a WTB ad. And of course there's also the SR-22 chassis. Though I believe you have to do some slight modifications to get the TUF-22 receiver to fit.

I have two plinking 10/22s done up AR-style and plan to do another with the Krinker Plinker AK-74u kit. Then finally a precision rig based off a TUF-22 receiver and either the V2 of Spectre Ballistics' chassis or an Oryx one. Not sure yet.

it is, which makes the stock look "weird". It is done as otherwise your head would come up too high and you would have a harder time seeing through the scope.

It looks weird but works well :)
