10/22 and Boyds stock

I might have an opportunity to pick up a 10/22 in stainless/synthetic for a good price. It would be identical to this one: http://www.cabelas.ca/index.cfm?pageID=71&&section=1187&section2=1725&section3=1738&ID=4883.

What would I need to do to drop it into this Boyds Rimfire Thumbhole stock: http://www.boydsgunstocks.com/RT-RUG-10-22-920-BC-STK-NL-F-p/500-420.htm? Are there any other parts I need to purchase or is it pretty straight forward?

Your rifle has a factory skinny barrel.
The stock you posted is for .920" bull barrel.
That is the only incompatibility I can see.

All you would need is the new stock and a flat head screwdriver.

2 minute job. Remove the barrel band from the front of the stock, and then remove the takedown screw under the stock. Install the new stock and enjoy.

Ah, see the thing is I know nothing about rifles. And I even checked the Ruger website but the spec sheet isn't very helpful: http://www.ruger.com/products/1022Carbine/specSheets/1256.html. Which 10/22s come with the .920" barrel?

Or start upgrading with an aftermarket barrel. You're gonna do it eventually anyway.
