10/22 Balance Point Bedding?

Hey all,

Would like to run this by you all and hopefully get an answer.

When bedding the barrel channel on a new stock, I've read reference to bedding/padding at the balance point of the barrel.

Does it mean the balance point of just the barrel?

or

Does it mean the balance point with the barrel installed in the receiver?

Based on my CGN and intermaweb research I bedded at the balance point with receiver attached. Worked great.
