10/22 Barrel Legal lenght for rimfire

From what I understood from the Smith& wesson 460 debate is that the barrel length is measured to the end of the rifling not to any device attached either temporary or permanent i.e. muzzle brake, flash hider, fake can, etc... In any case, do not cut your barrel less then 18.5" or make your OAL less then 26 1/4"

As for accuracy I have observed .22 RF are best when kept sub sonic, this is achieved in my anschutz by having long barrels causing more drag/friction slowing the target loads to sub-sonic velocities (yes I know most target loads are sub-sonic however at very cold temperatures some may exhibit trans-sonic velocities.

.22 caliber rifles are an exception.

Ruger Chargers come in restricted because the OAL is under 26".
 
Well I put My Muzzle on and decided not to cut anything, I am going to leave it as is. Here is a pic
