I have a nib 10/22 that is going into a blaster stock and i'm putting a dlask 12" barrel on it.is it a straight forward process?anyone else have any experience with a build like this?

as simple as eating pie for changing a barrel on a 1022, I usualy use a aftermarket v-block just because but you dont have 2, 2 bolts come out, v-block off, pull barrel out, push new one in

Your original barrel may be hard to nudge loose, depending on the fit. I have heard that using the bolt as a "ram" is one way to get it off. Another way would be to use a punch with a little towel cussion inside the receiver against the barrel face.

Who knows, maybe yours will be loosey goosey.

I love my 12" Dlask heavy, it's wickedly accurate for a shorty on my blaster. Just know that match chamber became picky over ammo. CCI Blasters wouldn't seat fully, about 1/8" of the rear couldn't squeeze into the chamber, pull trigger, firing pin struck, WHAM! case explodes inside and blew out my extractor. WEAR SAFETY GLASSES. Later found 2 Remington ammo's that worked great, love it now.

Tip 1: Match barrel chambers are tight, install a Volq extractor claw, buy 2 to have a spare in case of blowout.

Tip 2: Barrel replace/ install on 10/22, use a heat gun/hair dryer/torch to evenly heat up receiver until just too hot to touch, bolt removed. Wiggle stock one out. With breach end of receiver down on floor and still hot, the Dlask should push down nice and snug into the receiver with a nice precise sounding "thump!". Just hold the whole thing vertical until cooled down & shrunk down/ tight, should be pretty darn true.

Tip 3: Line up extraction ram well prior to pushing down, push don't hammer it in, keep moderate pressure on the muzzle end downwards while cooling (contraction creep outwards from receiver), and clean it well before using.

Enjoy!
