10/22 barrel

Or Dlask, depending on what you want... They sell the bull barrels, but I think they can cut them to a custom length, or at least they have some shorter ones. They're about $200, give or take. I'm sure some of the sponsors also stock them... Maybe Wanstalls? I can't really remember where I saw them...
 
Jo Brooks and Fabsports have Kidd, Wolverine lists Green Mountain, and Questar you can get PWS.

Heavy barrel, longer is better, killing gophers and coyotes. Its for my brother inlaw. He burned out his factory barrel afet about 6 years and 35,000+ rounds. Now he wants a bull barrel!

In that case get a 16" Dlask bull barrel with the standard chamber. Unless he really wants a longer barrel for other reasons, 16" is about optimum for maximum velocity with .22LR.
