10/22 Battledyne mags - opinions?

I've had had nothing but bad luck with them. Dave @ Hical seems to feel that the norm is reliable mags so I've decided (against my gut feeling) to do an exchange and try again. He says they're tweaking them so we'll see. Here is the range report I posted a little while ago.
________________________________________________

I went out there with:

1x Ruger BX-1 with CCI SV
1x Butler Creek Steel Lip 25rnd with CCI SV
2x Battledynes with CCI SV (One lubed with Eezox, the other not lubed)
2x Battledunes with Win555 (Lubed, one with CanTire silicon spray, the other G96)

Here is how the session went (in order)

a. I began the session by firing off the BX-1 and Butler Creek mags (rapid fire bursts). Flawless.

b. I fired 100 rounds of Win555 through one of the Battledynes. No love. 40% failure rate. Had the same experience bowzy described HERE.

c. I fired the contents of the 3 remaining Battledynes. Exact same performance and failure rate (35-45%).

d. Boresnaked the barrel.

e. Tested the BX-1 and BC mags again, this time with Win555, flawless (BC was full sustained rapid fire, all 25 rounds).

f. Ran another 100 rounds of Win555 through the original Battledyne (now total round count through this mag is 200), same failure rate (40%).

g. Finished the session by again testing the Ruger and BC mags with Win555, again flawless performance.

what about promags?

My understanding is that the new Gen 3 Promag 9-22 mags (with sleeve) have just come out and that Hical is getting some (with sleeve) in about a week. I've emailed his preorder email hoping to grab a couple from that shipment with the hope that if the Battledyne replacements fall flat that the Promags might do.

I won't know until I test those.

My Promags work great when only loaded with 20rds of ammo. I only use CCI mini mags with 40g RN and not HP.

If I put a full 25 in they jam and stovepipe my rifle.

As for the Battledyne. I'm sad to learn that they are junk. I was looking forward to grabbing a couple for sh*ts and giggles.

Maybe try to Promags approach and load fewer rounds then full capacity.

Got some replacement Promag Gen3's from Hical and I ran couple rounds through gopher/bird hunting, ammo I used was winchester dynapoints and had the Promag loader, these mags fit a bit looser then the gen2 but I tilted and released the bolt tilted forward and backward without issue, the sleeve on the Gen3's fit tighter and don't rattle. I accidentally loaded a gen3 with 26 rounds and was able to get 25 rounds in without using the loader with relative ease. so far no problems but thats not even 25 rounds and I had little problems with some other gen2's.
