10/22 Bolt Issues

My bolt is cycling really rough by hand whenever the trigger group is in.

I have to labour to cycle the bolt, and it sticks once in a while. It runs very smoothly without the trigger group in, but once it goes in, there's all this pressure riding on the bolt from the trigger group (I think, I don't know for sure).

How the hell can I fix this problem apart from buying a VQ trigger group?
I've been having lots of problems with my 10/22 lately...I just want to get her back to her old functioning self. :(
 
Have you taken the trigger group apart lately? If you did, did you get it back together properly with the bolt lock spring oriented right? If it is in backwards it can cause the hammer to jam while you are cocking the action. Don't ask me how I found this little fact out, lol.

Maybe it's just lonely, get it another 10/22 to talk to in the safe, and I'm sure it will start working like it did before.

I gotta admit too... I'm currently at about 4-5K rounds through mine since the last clean. I'm usually very anal about cleaning all my guns, but I think I'm kind of testing my 10/22's tolerance to an abundance of cheap ammo with no rub-down

...so far so good *knock wood*

That's probably where my issue is. The only problem is there are no good tutorials on how to take apart and put back together the trigger group.

Some help on that would definitely be appreciated...
 
Also...don't think I'm not working on the trigger right now. I'm seeing if I can get her put together the right way...I think that may be my problem...where the hell can I find the "bolt lock spring"?
 
Are you sure the bolt is seated properly and there is nothing, grit etc, in the top of your receiver? With something in there the bolt would still function with no trigger group but as the trigger group is put in place it would push up on the bolt and cause it to bind. Does the trigger group work smoothly out of the gun? Hammer #### and release smoothly? Just remember to hold the hammer with your thumb when you pull the trigger! DO NOT FREE FIRE THE HAMMER!

There is some wear of the finish on the inside of the reciever, but it looks pretty slick...nothing major enough to cause these problems.

The trigger group works fine as far as I can tell...it works just like the day I bought it.

You may have the hammer strut installed the wrong way. There's a washer on the bottom of it, where it slides in and out of the housing. If that's in 180 degrees from where it should be, that could cause binding.

I have the opening in the washer face up, in the bottom of the trigger gaurd. :(

I'm scared my gun is broken! :(
